I sell at an average of idk... 3-4 events a year? So I would consider myself a frequent congoer though not necessarily full time lol. I'm a little jaded like it's not that I don't enjoy going to cons but theres definitely a bunch that feel like just-another-con-weekend to me lol, sometimes it's more work than play I guess. But this con felt really different! For the first time in a while I left a convention feeling really thrilled and giddy that I had been there. The kind of feeling I used to get when I would table at anime cons in highschool! And I think a lot of that is the people I met and talked to and the overall vibes at the event. Oh also I literally just had surgery and going to this con is like the only thing ive done this week besides lay in bed and play Story of Seasons on the nintendo switch and I thought I would be in pain and miserable but actually I HAD SO MUCH FUN...!!!! even when i skipped after-hours socializing every night to go home early and sleep 12 hours lol. SO ANYWAYS. YEAH. IT'S CORNY. BUT I wanna say thank you again to everyone who stopped by the table. Especially all the coworkers and long time mutuals who I met in person for the first time this weekend!! And the long time followers who told me they have been following me since homestuck or naruto or whenever. And college classmates who I haven't seen since graduation, crazy talented underclassmen who I'd never met but stopped by to say hi... So many people who absolutely made my day. SPECIAL thank you to my table partner Emi who is the best and such a good sport and accommodating to the point that I feel ridiculous when she thanks me for anything. And um also thank you to the artists who were cool and nice when I went up to their tables and blurted out 24917596 compliments in rapid succession. or only got one really awkward compliment out to LMAO... Ooo new dorm arrangements! It made sense to me imo. Ive been a stay for a weird amount of time: started in 2019 and im on and off every other year. I usually listen to bands like ptv, sws, and bmth, uhhh... kinda the music my emo friends listened to in the early 2010s, so i end up coming and going.

Anyways, i remember watching "finding skz" and the survival show back in 2019/2020, and i think it's mentioned that when they all lived in one dorm, I.N. tends to clean up after them, but i think it was implied it was more like "maknae's chores." If my memory is still intact, I.N. everyones favorite roommate bc he's pretty organized and has good style... and he's the youngest, so they can dote on him but also boss him around lmao. Chan was the one most of them wanted to avoid rooming with purely bc he's not only organized, but he was strict on them and their leader, so he had the right to boss them around. They werent all familiar with each other on a personal level back then, just on a professional level, so it was kinda like rooming with your boss in a way lol. His tendency to go naked around the dorm and dote on them probably also contributed to that reason, but it was still really early in their career so they were reluctant to mention anything too """"scandalous"""" on camera. But yeah, those two together fit, especially now, since they've gotten to know each other a lot better and have chilled out.

Minsung together, obviously. I don't see them as clingy with each other as a lot of people seem to think. They're comfortable, secure, and read each other well. They dont necessarily need each other to live, but it's certainly much, much better together.

Changbin and Hyunjin. An emotionally aware person with a really emotional person. Changbin likes to play up his "crush" on Hyunjin for the camera, but i think he knows everyones boundaries enough to know when to reel it back. They seem to accommodate for each other and are still getting to know each other better, but then again, im not at all caught up on everything and dont know any of them personally lmao

Felix and Seungmin... for some reason, they seem both more emotionally attached yet also more emotionally distant than I see stay mentioning. The company's really pushing the "Felix is not human, he's a fairy" idea for a while now, and from an outsider's view, hes very pretty and im sure hes a very sweet person, but it looks a bit... tiring keeping that up.. and Seungmin is known for his "do what i want" attitude, especially lately with his "aiming for jyp" comments, and whatnot... idk where im going with this.... uhh ... well, i think their place is just them chilling. Just dudes being bros and getting a strong sense of being normal guys without the company rules on their image and being casual with each other. "Its not that deep until it is" vibes where they'll do the dude thing and not talk about their feelings much when they hang out, but every now and then, they'll let it all out, but its pretty rare.

"not really..." and then they just smile at each other in unison bc it's easier for both to say no than just one. idk idk i feel like theyre just good for each other

oh yes, i'm firmly on team "changbin knows exactly what he's doing." like i genuinely feel so similar to changbin sometimes bc i am truly the same way, but like you can tell when it's a healthy vs unhealthy amount... and i think hyunjin likes that little bit of attention 😭😭😭 i think they're just good for each other

okay so i know felix is our sweet lil sunshine baby, but i just KNOW behind the scenes, he's way more "dude" than what his image shows. like idk if anyone has proof but i just feel it in my bones that he can be lowkey really crude & that seungmin eats that shit up. like i think seungmin probably finds it really fucking funny. bc we've all seen the clips of felix cursing... a lot. i just know seungmin is influenced by it. like 100%. seungmins "i'll fucking punch you".... yeah, those two belong together <3

so basically i dont have a lot of girlfriends. i never have, all the ones i got close to generally either betrayed me in the worst ways or we moved and lost touch. (betrayal backstories is a whole other rant, but it's nauseating the way ive been treated by women who claimed to love me) so most of my friends are dudes, in fact, both of my true besties are.

anyway, i have really one solid girlfriend and shes a good bit younger than me. she also dont have a lot of friends in general, she has me and a small handful of others. she regards me as her bestie, i kind of guess shes mine but like...idk. i view her more like a younger sister, i guess.

so basically, she copies EVERYTHING i fucking do, within her means. like, before her and i were close, she just dressed pretty normal, no notable flavor or style. but now shes trying so hard to be goth bc i am. she cut her hair how mine used to be, dyed it black bc mine is, got all of the same piercings as me, yall get it. i wish i was exaggerating but im really not. even her mom messaged me to tell me she bases her style off me and shes glad im not a "greasy goth" (lol??)

but it's infuriating. i know i didnt invent goth. im not the first to have the piercings, hair, outfits, and interests i do...but it's really annoying to have someone base their entire style and interests off of me bc i have worked hard to curate myself as a person. i work hard for my aesthetic, im pretty thoughtful in my planning for outfits, how i decorated my home, everything, but especially bc these are genuine interests ive had since i was a preteen...and it's just so irksome to have someone try to imitate it as closely as possible every single day without any real, concrete interest in any of it, outside of prob just tryna be relatable to me

and a few weeks ago we got on the topic of sexuality and how im pan and have had gfs etc now shes magically also bisexual. she told me she got "tricked" by a straight girl recently but caught an attitude with me bc i told her if there wasnt clear intentions by both parties, she wasnt tricked, bc there was no flirting/romantic intent and that being bi/pan talking to straight women (or even other bi/pan wonen) doesn't automatically garner a romantic response. she didnt like that and got really snappy with me, but im not wrong. she tried to say she thought she was going on a date, but she was literally going to another friend's house to watch rupaul, and the other girl was also coming over, she sent me screenshots of the convo and like.....yeah, no, 1000% on her for thinking anything of it. she just picked said girl bc she was friends with her other friend and I guess it was an easy shot, but she also overlooked homegirl having a whole man too so like????? bro hello.

personally i think it's definitely made for each other!max. max was just being (kinda understandably) weirded out and then possessive + messy in causing problems. while in made for each other he literally saw that girl and said, "yeah that's the love of my life, I will do absolutely anything to make her my wife" and then rearranged everything in his life to make sure that they'd be together. also, he was just overall crazier and that was super hot {gets shot} he definitely takes the cake and there's a spot specially for him in my brain.

And yeah you are right. Max in mfeo is crazy (it's okay though, he's cute) while Causing Problems Max is just messy. He's honestly just a guy who learned that his girlfriend/first crush/sexual awakening lost her virginity to her brother's best friend, her friend, and his former teammate... If she been seeing someone... well she would have done the same thing but with the added,

"Max," and his name is near breathless and he doesn't know if he wants to feel her lips on his or her lips against his skin again more. "I have to break up with someone, we can't"

Green would have taken over, he'd be grabbing her hand, dragging her out of the party they were at to his hotel, the drunkness he had been feeling gone with her words, and he's texting Kelly that it's over, that he wants what little she has at his gone before he gets back in two days. And when they finally get to his hotel room, he's kissing her, slipping his fingers between her legs and then finally when he's got her on his bed, fully inside her, he'd be making her call who she's been seeing as has her break up with them while he makes her moan his name.

4) yes! i havent listened to a Lot of rivers diaries, maybe half or so? how many are there? eleven? okay definitely not half. ive listened to Some fkjhjh but theres one where she meets a bunch of other people with water names who can regenerate? and i dont actualy remember how that story goes but what i do remember from it is idk this thing river says about wanting somewhere to belong. i think it might also be in this audio she talks about the doctor as this ghost that just drops into her life whenever he pleases, but that might also be another audio idk i need to relisten.

theres also a moment in the tenth doctor and river boxset, i think the story expiry dating? where theyre writing letters back and forth and theres a moment where river sort of talks to herself like "one of those wide-eyed orphans he saves" smth like that. im always like oof that self-image

but like who could she attach to right? she doesnt really have a normal family bc that got all messed up by the silence. she knows she marries the doctor or knows she will be attached to him in some way. and hes also a link to amy and rory right? so like, where do you go? in that position. yes you could idk settle somewhere i guess and make friends but you'd always be sorta unmoored, youre always waiting for the doctor, for your destiny basically. like if you make another life the chances are pretty high that as soon as the doctor shows up theyre gonna mess it all up. you know where you end up but you never know when hes gonna show up! youre just waiting

and also yeah like exactly what youre saying at 5 and 7 like. the whole situation in lets kill hitler, like, what else is she gonna do?? where else is she gonna go?? these are the only three people who are any kind of family

anyway but yeah tldr rivers life is a tragedy!! and i think the doctor gave her a happy ending, sort of the life shes been waiting for her entire adult life probably, with darilium, but then again, the doctor did that in part bc of what they already knew about the library so!!! would any of it have happened if it hadnt happened!!!

but also just to come back to #2/the feeling trapped part too. idk. maybe they do feel that at times. i'd imagine especially river bc for the doctor it seems to me for a long time shes just kind of a puzzle he thinks about occasionally. and when they do marry it's the doctor who decides that and it's not like out of romantic motives necessarily. he has all the agency there so i can imagine he feels less trapped

but also i do think they really grow to care for each other, so that might lessen the trapped feeling a little. like yes okay time mightve twisted in such a way theyre tied together, but hey this is not a bad person to be tied up with theyre kinda having fun? most of the time?

also, kinda unrelated, but do you think they travelled for their 24-year one night date or did they like, make house and settle? bc im thinking like, though they might get a little restless and probably get up to stuff, daytrips, i can imagine they might both want to settle a little bit? plus also i can imagine there might be some rules, or imagined rules, about darilium. like maybe the doctor made up the rules, imagined rules that Time might have about that night/24-years and how it should go, but like it kinda feels like just, going away from that planet would break the rules? you know what i mean? they might be a little trapped there too. for 24 years.

First off- I really do need to relisten to The Furies but the TARDIS wiki is going to have to do for now. This is going to be in list format because I am a scatter brained idiot. Also River’s timeline is so vague and being vague about timeline stuff is BF bread and butter so I feel like almost everyone is going to have a different view of River and that makes things difficult. She lies-the narrative lies its very distilled doctor who. 

(I am so sorry if this doesn't make any sense I tried)

1a.) I don’t think that she was always thinking that he didn’t love her back. I think that was a late marriage hiccup. Angels take Manhattan and eleven burning through the rest of his days with her I think caused some marital issues but it comes up against the fact that Moffat could only vaguely hint at these adult issues and not really explore them in the show itself. 

1b.) (as a sidebar I think that seeing eleven ask her mom to stay and then him being so hideously miserable should have caused issues but that goes into squicky territory for alot of people esp since she (presumably) had interactions with post angels-eleven before she herself did angels)

2.) This is never directly addressed in canon (so far) but it is on the periphery but given how they are non-linier I don’t understand how neither River nor the Doctor feel like they are trapped into their marriage to each other because it’s already written out (somewhat done with eleven but meh)

3.) TDoRS River both wants the Doctor around and desperately hates when he is actually involved in her escapades. Him being involved usually causes her to go more directly nuclear. She’s very protective of him in ways I don’t really think that he would appreciate.  

4.) All of this memory wiping of her meeting the Doctor’s past selves and how judicious she is with the amnesia is so sad? Like how alone must she feel. She doesn’t really put down roots.

5.) River is told that she only loves the Doctor because he was nice to her and given how she was abused in her upbringing she got mega attached to him because of that. 

6.) Unfortunately “Love is for children- I owe him a debt” is resonant

7.) The vague sense of melancholy only gets worse if you consider her relationship with the Pond’s too. 

Anyway the worst part is that there's all these delicious ways one could look at River/Doctor but at most it just gets vagued at because you can’t do emotional stuff like this in EU content. And because Big Finish doesn’t have Matt Smith or Karen Gillian (and didn’t use Arthur Darvill in TDorS when they had him).

a) none of them have ever engaged with this text in any meaningful way, ESPECIALLY not the first games' stories, because surprise! characters in es! did Canonically use slurs! and back then Nobody Liked It. we didnt joke about it. most people i know completely stopped paying attention to the characters who did until they apologized. yeah um ! was definitely a ride. i wouldnt recommend it to everyone but at least we have hindsight and things like slurs and general offensive terms/behaviors can be warned for, so that much is nice. i remember being really upset about a few of these, and then getting back into enstars earlier this year and reading a few of the more current stories + !! stories i was happy to see that the writing has developed CONSIDERABLY in terms of this especially after beasts. something ive noticed a lot of newer fans do (referencing my previous post irt the feeling morally superior) is that if you like a specific character for whatever reason youre actually a horrible person because that character said something awful once. of course youre allowed to dislike characters for whatever reason but dont tell other people they should perish because they like them (as if liking them means you implicitly agree with said views, more often than not One line in a miriad of stories that you might not even have read). but like you said, characters making ignorant comments (an unfortunate occurrence, although rare, it still happens) is not a reflection of 2d pixels on a screen but rather a team of writers..... idk. its a complicated situation. i see both sides and i think people are justified in liking or disliking but this is a game about idol boys (and girl) got dam

hi there, I love your art! if you have time to answer, I was wondering if you have any tips or recommendations for drawing in a more expressive or cartoony style? I've been drawing for years but I always get caught up in the weeds and end up adding way too many details that don't necessarily look bad, but are too stiff and over-detailed. ah thanks so much, i really appreciate it!! i totally get where youre coming from tho, i really tend to get caught up in the small things too (the amount of sketch layers i have on finished things is stupid lmao). anyways yes theres a few things i do to help myself out of that pattern!! im not all that great at putting things into words but hopefully the pictures help haha putting it under the cut because it'll probably end up long sorry

i cant speak for everybody but this is what i do! heres how i tend to approach my initial sketches:

i like to keep it minimal here so i can focus on the pose over everything else, i try to do it in one pass and not worry about the anatomy. usually i do a few of these kind of sketches before i figure out something i like. also something ive found recently is that, for me, zooming in and doing these sketches really tiny helps because i dont have the space to add in detail. i do this a lot when i thumbnail a sequence to storyboard (usually on paper tho) and it helps me focus on the idea over the drawing

after that i like to focus on shapes!

if theyre a character with loose fitting clothes i usually won't sketch out much anatomy and just get into the shapes of the clothes bc then i dont get too particular with proportions and all. im gonna state here that this is not an excuse to not study anatomy tho and the reason that this works out for me is because i have studied it haha

getting into details of things, i kind of try to walk the line between too little and too much? like with clothes the details i like to get are wrinkles at bent joints and obvious seams. with wrinkles i try to only do one, maybe two, because it can get excessive fast.

seams are really good for establishing the direction things are facing, like to read volume in 3D space. the ones ill pretty much always include (unless theyre not present in the clothing worn) are shoulder seams and pants seams. in my experience shoulder seams are great at telling the fit of a shirt without a ton of detail!

lmao heres a collage of expressions for an example. as far as faces go i like to exaggerate mouths and eyebrows a lot lmao its kind of hard for me to put into words my process here. i really like dot eyes bc i feel like i can do a lot with em in combination with lines. tho i dont usually use em on finished artwork. eyebrows and mouth are primarily what i use to establish a facial expression, though sometimes ill throw in a scrunched nose if the expression calls for it.

the whole "clean lines" bit really does help with making sure things dont look too cluttered, and the way to approach that for me is doing your line in just one stroke (maybe two if u want it darker but thats besides the point lmao) but yeah drawing from your shoulder, not having a hairy line, etc really helps not clutter your drawing anyways i think thats about it for expressiveness and clean lines idk if youve got anything more to ask ill answer to the best of my ability

TL;DR i try to focus on shapes and pose, and putting in just enough details to make action/expression read well

Oh yeah, I'm 1000% with you on this. I mentioned navyseal cause that's my personal guilty pleasure that I am highkey obsessed with but had to keep it on the downlow after twitter decided it was just as bad as inc*st apparently (as someone who is very very deeply uncomfortable and revolted by that type of stuff in genuine, that shit pissed me off!!!), but this absolutely applies to Chip and Jay and polypirates as a whole. Hell, when I first started the show and didn't really have much fandom influence in my first 30 something episodes I was actually way more of a poly enjoyer

Anyways, as a whole I do sincerely think Chip and Jay work better as a platonic bond, I like this interpretation of their relationship better than romantic, but that doesn't necessarily make the ship bad or wrong you know? Literally ditto to everything you said in your asterisk I couldn't word it better myself.

FIRST i will confess to u smth.. all of my Fashion and Design Aesthetics were formed in my TENDER YOUTH watching eureka 7 and reading like, really fashionable shoujo manga + IMMORTAL RAIN in PARTICULAR. one of my most substantial influences is 70s mod fashion (the combo result of e7 and I Watched Austin Powers Probably Too Much As A Child) which isnt always apparent in the actual outfits but is usually p apparent in like.. HOW i draw them (clean/concise silhouettes, a lot of straight lines and curve combos accentuating each other). more than fashion fit design itself i rely LARGELY on breaking the body up into shapes and sections and then mold clothes to fit however i want to section those shapes. I HAVE NO IDEA IF THAT MAKES SENSE but THIS oc thing i did the other day kind of showcases what i focus on in terms of visual appeal when i do outfits.

i also like to think about personality when it comes to designing fits- like, what does the character enjoy, what is their GOAL w their clothing?? the ones i drew there are all a Specific Look that oc cultivates, which is WEAPONIZED SEXUALITY so her sexy fits are revealing but not TOO revealing bc its a tease not an invitation. her ultimate goal is to throw ppl off their guard and have them underestimate her, which is why her OTHER aesthetic is like, CHASTE INNOCENT SUNDAY SCHOOL ATTIRE. everything i draw her in is designed w her Goals in mind, if that is making any sense at all. ig what i am trying to say is that i always think in terms of like WHY would the character wear this, WHAT purpose do they utilize their clothes for? if i can narrow that down then i usually can visualize smth OR narrow down to a Clothes Genre and work from there

HERE are some brief annotations for my thought process on designing these outfits. i based them all off cape coats and pea coats so those were my references once i got it down to a GENRE. SIMILARLY i thought abt some of ninos canon aesthetics in THIS draw for the color palette (THE BUBBLER, SPECIFICALLY, OBVIOUSLY), BUT this is one of those cases where i just went w MY preferences for what i want to see chars in, same w marinettes fit. you can really see my 70s influence w ninos little booty shorts tbh

OTHERWISE YEAH. i just pull stuff outta my cavernous little noggin and call it good!! every set of pjs ive drawn marinette in are just things i think are cute and want to draw her in, not necessarily smth i think shed wear in the show. i dont look up fashion insp stuff v often but i used to spend soooo much time on lookbook back in the day (is lookbook still a thing??????). overall i just mix n match shit i KNOW i like, which usually means a lot of croptops if i am being honest here

~The owl house characters zodiac headcanons~ (part 2)

Lilith:-leo♌- I've met multiple Leo's in my lifetime and i can definitely see Lilith in a few of them. someone who is very loving at heart especially towards their family, but has a habit of putting themselves first, Wich isnt necessarily a bad thing! On the contrary self care is absolutely important, but as you can see with Lilith there are limits you should take and thoughts you should consider before y'know, cursing your sister. The thing that really sets this for me is Lilith's letter to hooty. Alsmost every aspect of that letter screamed Leo to me from the fangirling to the hint jealousy, so here ya go.

Willow:- virgo♍- i had a lot of trouble finding this one actually willow is such an awesome and complex character when you really look at her, but trying to fit that to a sing zodiac was challenging, in the end this one fit the most,which i don't know feels a little... obvious? Don't get me wrong she's got the hard working, and kindness qualites while also being worrier and timid at first but everything else idk. But hey zodiacs don't fully describe anyone, everyone unique in their own little way so.

Gus:-sagittarius♐- This one i knew almost instantly. Gus is pretty funny and comidic, as Sagittarius are known for their humor. İ can also see gus as very free spirited, and his love for human stuff and adventure also can fit Sagittarius traits. He's also a bit reckless and sarcastic/ a mood at times so this one just fit.

Hunter:-pisces♓- pisces are know to be adaptable, wise, and a bit naive. Wich are all a few aspects of hunter he's had to Learn to adapt to life outside of belos. He's known as a teen prodigy and is seen to be pretty intellectual on certain subjects, while also being naive on things like kids his age and what not. Can i say pisces perfectly fit hunter? No. İs it close and somethig I'm ok with? Yup.

Principal bump: -Aries♈- a bit weird for this list but just go with it. Now when i say ive met a few Aries, i mean I've met alot of Aries. So when my first instinct told me bump was an Aries i went with it, and I'm pretty pleased with this. Bump is one of if not the best cartoon principals. A trait of Aries is getting angry or upset at someone quickly but forgiving them just as quick or at least not holding any big grudge. This fits present bump pretty Welly to me. Their also known to be leaders, argumentive, and impatient at times. Bump is an amazing leader/principal,. When we first meet him he tended to argue with Luz quit a bit, and he seemed to want answers from hunter asap in labyrinth runners (understandable). But yeah i think him being an Aries just fits with his overall character.

Like yeah, it's clear from Ivy's internal dialogue that she's (at least supposed to be) struggling with her own self hatred, and that it's not necessarily @ Harley in particular, but like hey maybe don't randomly get angry at and give the silent treatment towards your already traumatized girlfriend that you know has already been traumatized by her last partner because you're going through shit.

Two questions:

1. What do you feel about CorpsexSykunno ship?

I feel like it's MarkiplierxJacksepticeye all over again, starts out innocent and turns uncomfortable.

(Also I think real people shipping is gross in general)

2. Dream smp makes me so nervous, not necessarily because of any of the members but due to (1) the history of online teams dominated (and lead) by male influencers, (2) minecraft youtube's general history of exploiting fans. I feel like it's going to end badly. You seem to be enjoying it tho, and it's definitely up my alley, should I get into it?

1. Corpse and Sykkuno are not comfortable being shipped! Neither of them are okay with being shipped with ANY of their friends in general, so like, don’t do it, or if u do like. i guess just don’t say anything about it? it’s really not hard to just enjoy their friendship. like it’s an endearing friendship n there’s nothing wrong w liking it. but. nothing more u know. plus both of them have made it clear on several occasions that they’re both straight and my gaydar agrees JFKDKDK like they’re just. Friends. Who care about each other :)

I definitely think it’s not like the markiplier x jacksepticeye situation, because for one u have jack himself telling people not to ship etc etc and also BECAUSE of that u have people actively policing any form of shipping. it’s honestly gotten to the point where it’s annoying but i genuinely don’t think it’s that big a problem, plus the rising popularity of the amigops puts less pressure on one-on-one corpse + sykkuno interactions, since people now wanna see all four of them play games together n not just corpse n sykkuno!

2. I get why Dream SMP would make u nervous. An interesting thing I realized when I started finding out more about people on that server is that there’s marginally more poc on it than I previously thought and also A LOTTTTT more lgbt+ people than i previously thought. Like genuinely why are so many of u so gay. And like that affects the stories being told obviously. Like. I don’t think it’s perfect n I don’t follow EVERY person on the SMP, just like i obviously don’t know everything about every minecraft YouTuber like fkdkdkdk i would say the only people i watch are dream, george, quackity (and even then i haven’t seen most of quackity’s YouTube videos) and like I’ve seen a couple of tommyinnit’s videos Fjdjdjdj and sapnap obviously but he has like 10 videos and i watch Karl’s streams if certain people are on it. yeah i think that’s about it like i do like the feral boys (dream george karl quackity sapnap) and i have seen maybe one or two skeppy videos

Anyway I get ur concerns about online circles dominated by male influencers too. but quite frankly compared to past circles ive seen its genuinely not that bad and also. In terms of holding them accountable, I think mcyttwt makes VERY sure of that (which honestly has devolved into a problem. because privileged haters will dig up stuff on creators that either a. has been addressed properly or b. is just. several years old and i don’t like how minorities are being weaponized. also i cannot stress how little i care that some minecraft YouTuber said the r slur 10 years ago when they literally never do it now. like. i worry so much because so many of these stans who think they’re ‘educating’ are just wearing themselves out n burning themselves out. so many of them are minors too)

but like. the people i am kept up w definitely do take responsibility and accountability. like dream especially gets accused of stuff that’s either fake/not him or something that’s just like out of this world (e.g. accused of queerbaiting. w george. interestingly no one ever accuses george directly of doing this) and no matter what he like addresses it properly and accordingly. like looking at his journey as a creator over the past year he’s grown a LOT and changed so much and matured a lot and i think like. looking at how much he’s blowing up and how much more of a following he’ll gain. I feel much better that it’s him who has this following as compared to. Certain people. And like. It’s upsetting to see how a lot of people have this impression of him that’s objectively false? Due to all the fake stuff that gets spread by haters (most often white for some reason???)? Because genuinely he’s not the creator we need to be so worried about?

Anyway in terms of getting into mcyts in the dream smp. I knew who Dream was because he’s played among us w the amigops a lot n they all like him because he’s just a good natured amicable person. I vaguely knew who george was because of dnf n also people putting his stupid face on my tl all the time. I thought he was pretty n hated that I thought that. I don’t care anymore tho. Like what’s wrong w looking at pretty people. I deserve it. Anyway! I got into their videos through GEORGE first, funnily. I think Minecraft, But I’m Not Colorblind Anymore was the first one I watched and it’s very very good. It’s endearing because it’s George trying out colorblind glasses for the first time n he’s nervous but Dream is there with him to make him feel more comfortable. And also Dream is so happy n emotional (he talks about tearing up at the thought of George being able to see colors properly) and their friendship is just very endearing. The video starts w george taking a colorblind test and we find out he has protan colorblindness (severity: STRONG which makes them crack jokes about how George is SO strong 😤)

anyway these losers. Decide to test the colorblind glasses on colors in MINECRAFT because of course that’s the whole video and it’s really heartwarming to see George learn how colors look like again n Dream just being excited about it the whole time n then George taking the colorblind test again at the end but with the glasses on... n then u go on to watch more george videos but it’s the ANIMAL CHALLENGES. like George Speedruns Minecraft But His Friend Is (Insert Animal, This Animal Is Always Dream) and like...... yeah so I watched a bunch of George’s videos n I went onto dream’s channel out of curiosity

And i was like. What the fuck. These videos are so WEIRDLY named. What the fuck is Finale, Finale Rematch, Grand Finale???? But dream has adhd too and in hindsight I absolutely would’ve titled the videos in a similarly confusing way. Anyway dreams manhunt videos are...... a work of art. I swear to god like even if u don’t know jackshit about minecraft they are very entertaining and weirdly impressive.

Basically in Minecraft Manhunt: Dream has to beat the game, but his friends are there trying to kill him. If they kill him even ONCE, they win n the video ends. He’s allowed to kill them repeatedly though. Manhunt started with one hunter (George, to one’s surprise), then two hunters (Sapnap and George), three (Sapnap, George, BadBoyHalo), and now four (Sapnap, George, BadBoyHalo, Antfrost). The next stage is possibly 5 hunters but idk who is the fifth yet. Anyway the thing that’s so entertaining about minecraft manhunt is:

1) Dream’s Parkour & PVP skills, which he developed and trained over such a short period of time n got REALLY good, it’s satisfying to watch him do risky maneuvers n succeed, the ways he’ll jump from a high place but clutch w either water, blocks, horses, boats, scaffolding, etc, to escape from the hunters

2) Dream’s TRAPS, like he actually does research for possible plans n traps he could do to counter the hunters, since there’s so many of them and only one of him, and he can’t just fight them in combat exclusively, since he’ll lose eventually if he gets ganged up on. I won’t spoil any of his traps, but they’re very good and also very dramatic. It’s amazing

3) The banter and taunting!! The lies and tricks!! They’re all really close so it’s easy for them to crack jokes during a lull where neither party is engaged in a fight, they’re all on the same VC so they can potentially say stuff to trick each other, or they can hear the other team say stuff that gives them an edge

4) The editing. Like the pacing is incredible, and all the bgm used is SO good at setting the atmosphere n making things more tense n exciting etc. like “dream’s manhunt music” is honestly a meme at this point but he actually unironically uses it and it unironically makes the videos better. Also dream edits all the manhunt videos by himself!! he doesn’t hire editors to do it for him or anything

idk what else to say but yeah I watch most of dream n george’s YouTube videos and they’re in most of each other’s videos and I like their dynamic a lot!! Especially since they still have not met in real life but already know they want to like live together (forever, according to George), and it like reminds me of the friendships I have because most of my close friendships have been made online. And like. They remind me that online friendships aren’t actually inferior. That’s it :) sorry this is so long

advice for getting blood drawn, especially if you have trouble

I'm a phlebotomist, and it's very common for my patients to have various histories with venipuncture. Some have a phobia of needles, or of blood. Some get dizzy and/or black out. Some might have veins that are difficult to access. Some people might just want to know more. So I wanted to make a post to help.

Tip #1 - You can always ask for someone else.

If you aren't comfortable with the person drawing your blood, for ANY reason, you have the right to request someone else do it. If they missed on the first try and you don't want them to try again? If they seem rude or disrespectful to you? If you just get a weird vibe from them? Ask for someone else.

There's a couple situations where, in my opinion, you should ALWAYS ask for someone else:

You have dark skin, and the phlebotomist comments that it's hard to locate your veins. That's not how it works, finding the best venipuncture site is done by feel, so if anyone says this they're either doing their job wrong, or trying to use your skin tone as an excuse for their having difficulty. Trouble finding a vein can happen with any patient.

You're having blood drawn (via a new poke, NOT an IV being put in or used) and a nurse is the one doing it. Nurses outrank us, yes, but they are not anywhere near as practiced in drawing blood, and quite frankly most of them aren't very good at it. (Idk if this is different outside the US)

The person drawing your blood doesn't listen or brushes you off when you explain that you have a history of wooziness/fainting.

To be clear, someone else won't necessarily be available 100% of the time, especially because of the current pandemic. But most of the time it should be doable.

Tip #2- Communicate and keep track of what works

A lot of the time, patients feel guilty about "making a fuss" or "giving us trouble." Even sometimes patients who don't require anything special, but look away from the needle, think they're being difficult- probably 1/3 of patients can't watch it! But even people who DO need something extra, we are fully equipped to provide that additional care, it's part of our job and no trouble whatsoever.

Things you should communicate:

"I've fainted or almost fainted from getting blood drawn before" / "I'm feeling dizzy" Even if you're an outpatient, places will usually have an extra supportive chair/recliner to put you in so you can stay safe, crackers and juice to help get your blood sugar back up, and/or a quiet place you can rest for a little afterwards.

"Can you talk to me and distract me?" / "Can I ask you some questions to soothe my nerves?" Yeah, sure, I don't mind at all. I can't promise that I can answer all the questions, some might go to your doctor or nurse, but whatever makes you feel better.

"That SERIOUSLY hurts!" Any pain should be mostly gone after the needle stops moving. If it still hurts while the blood is flowing, especially if it's an electric kind of pain that radiates down your arm or hand, tell the phlebotomist to remove the needle immediately, because it's likely touching a nerve. I don't mean to scare you, this is rare, and when it does happen there's usually no ill effects other than extra bruising, but obviously we don't want the needle there.

"I'm on blood thinners / am a hemophiliac" Ideally the phlebotomist should ask you, but they might not, especially if you're young. NSAIDs, especially aspirin, do count as blood thinners at any dosage, so if you took some for a headache you should mention it. Don't worry about it, we draw from tons of old people who are on thinners, we're used to it, it's just good to know.

"I have difficult veins, but last time they got it from right here." Everyone's body changes from day to day, so your veins might not be the same as before. But it's good to remember the place that has been successful, it can save a lot of time and sticks. (Scar tissue especially can make it hard to feel which veins are still accessible, which means IV drug users can be hard to draw from, but when they know exactly which veins are good, it's no problem!)

"Before it took more than two people to find the vein" / "They had to put a hot pack on me to bring the vein up" / "My veins roll a lot" Related to the previous bullet, it's common for people to say they have difficult veins, but it's only useful if you're more specific. A lot of people think they have harder veins than they do.

That said, don't insist that we use a butterfly or pediatric needle. You don't have the training to determine what kind of needle we need to use. Butterfly needles are expensive, and in many places they're in short supply, and we have to ration them out. Additionally, using a needle that's too thin for the strength of the blood flow can damage the blood, which can ruin the sample. Most adults do absolutely fine with a normal straight needle, whether it hurts depends on the skill of the phlebotomist, and on luck. If you insist on a butterfly when you don't need one, you might end up with the kind of butterfly that's actually a bigger needle than the straight needle.

Tip #3 - Be hydrated

There's not much else to say here. Unless you're about to have surgery and you're specifically not supposed to drink anything, it makes things much faster and quicker if you're well-hydrated. Eating is also good, but a lot of blood tests are fasting ones, so make sure you're okay to eat beforehand or the tests might be pointless.
